Midwives Alliance of West Virginia

MAWV has been meeting for 20 years. Our members are from all backgrounds of midwifery training; CPMs and LMs practice in the state as well as CNMs. Homebirth is available, but midwives to attend homebirths are spread thinly across this very rural and mountainous state. There is an ACNM chapter and a new active doula network in West Virginia. Plans to possibly link the three organizations with a project are being developed for 2002.
